Job Title: Employee Benefits Producer
Description: PRIMARY FUNCTIONS: 1. Monitoring and communicating with Account Management Team to achieve goals 2. Aggressively solicits and sells insurance products and services to existing and new business; maintains an existing book of business; expands book of business; enhances the public image of the Agency by proactively performing the following duties. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Aggressively solicits and sells insurance products and services to existing and new business; maintains an existing book of business; expands book of business; enhances the public image of the Agency by proactively performing the following duties. 2. Prospect for new business from existing client, and prospects. Effective utilization and management of system sales pipeline. 3. Meet with prospect to determine insurance needs and potential agency fit. 4. Collect detailed risk and underwriting information. 5. Develop and deliver formal proposal of insurance and detailing coverage provided and recommendations. 6. Work with service person or marketer to complete company submissions and selection of potential markets. 7. Conduct thorough communication of benefits offerings to employees and/or administrator. Includes on-site meetings, benefits guides, and video presentations. 8. Effectively manage service timeline delivery with account management team. 9. Introduce service person to clients and request that service calls be directed to them and forward all service related calls to assigned service person. 10. Stay informed of all claims or service issues and become involved in resolution when required. 11. Participate in renewals, when appropriate, by reviewing expiration listing with service person to determine appropriate action and collection of information to prepare renewal submission. 12. Maintain production reports and attend all sales meetings as required. 13. Promote agency and insurance industry in the community. 14. Keep informed of industry development through review of trade, podcasts, and press and by attending insurance carrier training meetings on new products, etc. 15. Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by agency management QUALIFICATIONS 1. Must be knowledgeable of medical and ancillary insurance carrier markets and plan design 2. Knowledgeable on COBRA, HSA’s, FSA’s, HRA’s, and Health care reform 3. Must hold life and health license 4. Must possess good oral and written communication skills and be able to work independently and hit deadlines 5. Minimum two years experience in similar position and bachelor’s degree is preferred. 6. Update to date computer skills a must with basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred. KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES 1. Formal sales training and skills associated with navigating and commanding a sales cycle 2. Competitive and persistent 3. Active Driver’s License – Travel is required as our target market is within a 120 mile radius.
